Text
The exhibition “Builders Supply” originates in DIY construction shops, for which Alfredo Aceto develops a fascination. A display of stereotypical masculinity and a supply site for artists, artisans and tinkerers, these builders’ supply shops become a source of observation and reflection. In the exhibition, Alfredo Aceto mingles intimacy and disclosure and strips the object away from its utilitarian function. Just like opening an unconventional toolbox or one’s wardrobe, the works reveal themselves as carriers of subversive and distorted messages.
